i know how she feels my mom got cancer in 2006 and died in 2018 and it the worst thing to hear. i remember my dad opening my door to tell me that my mom took her last breath and lost her battle to cancer. Her story sit with me with a very understanding of what she went through

I know how she feels. My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer when I was 9 and they told us she wouldn’t live past 6 days. Then when I was 10 she was diagnosed with stage 2 brain cancer in two separate spots and they could only get the bigger one out so they did radiation on the smaller one. Then she developed cancer in her neck and spine and after praying at church they were gone the next morning and the doctors couldn’t find them. My mom was the strongest woman I know. She was up walking a few hours after having brain surgery and when she left the hospital the sun came out for the first time that day and was shining on our family. She was put into a hospice house when I was 14 and died 1 month later. It hurts so much because I went through all of my “growing up” stages without her and the whole time all I wanted was to have her hold me and tell me I was going to be okay and it was normal. Her 4 year death anniversary passed two days before thanksgiving and I was a total mess. I found a recording of her voice from when I was 2 and we were singing and laughing and I almost lost it all over again but it calmed me down. It felt good to know that even though I’ll never get to hug her or tell her face to face how much I love her I’ll never forget the sound of her voice because I have it with me. It hurts most because I look exactly like her so when I look in the mirror and see her I sometimes cry and now at age 18 as I grow more it hurts to think of all the things she’s going to miss and I fall into a state of sadness where only my sister, 2 brothers and Dad can pull me from. Even though it was 4 years ago the pain still feels so strong and powerful. I know she loves me though and is always proud of me and gives me the strength to move on and keep going. I’ve had many other people around me such as teachers and friends die of this and each time I feel the loss but I know I have more angels to watch over and guide me, but sometimes I still wonder why they had to be the ones to go. I wouldn’t wish this pain on anyone so to see reminds me that I’m not alone and that makes me feel stronger because I sometimes feel like I am
